Our Story
About Greater Chicago Cavalier Rescue
Since 2005, Greater Chicago Cavalier Rescue (GCCR) has been dedicated to protecting the health and well-being of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in need. Over the years, we have rescued, nurtured, and placed more than 1,000 dogs into loving homes.
As the popularity of the breed continues to grow, so does the need for responsible rescue efforts. GCCR works closely with animal control agencies, shelters, humane societies, other rescue organizations, and Cavalier owners to support dogs and families in need. This work is only possible due to the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our volunteers.
From coordinating transport to providing foster care, we are committed to supporting each dog on their journey to a safe and permanent home.
Our mission is simple: to ensure the health and security of Cavaliers in need by:
-
Rehabilitating and placing dogs from shelters and similar situations
-
Assisting breeders and owners in finding appropriate new homes
-
Supporting owners who can no longer care for their dogs
If you’re interested in getting involved, we invite you to complete a volunteer or adopter application.
